DSTV Rules ok

Posted by

An image of one of the lower cost areas of a small town called Rawsonville. Here, as in many of the shack dwellings around the country, one can see the huge influence the major paid TV service has. The satellite dishes are in evidence everywhere.

On our previous visits, we were amazed at the DSTV dishes. in the squatter camps. I guess it it a matter of priorities.

@kiwisa: Agreed. This is a very watered-down version of what is in the informal settlements! Not my finest image, but I liked the colours.

South Africa is a beautiful country, but some of the townships are really bad with appalling living conditions. The major TV companies are just concerned about making money as they are here and all over the world. Your image is a sad but powerful one. 5*

QUite a contrast to see those satellite dishes in what appears to be poverty level living.
