An honest day's work

Posted by dobbino (Cape Town, South Africa) on 21 August 2009 in People & Portrait and Portfolio.

On Monday morning, Jacqui and I took a drive out to a little town called Malmesbury, with the primary purpose of replenishing our stocks of sparkling wine, but also with the hope of picking up a decent photo or two during the trip.

As you can see, it was quite a cloudy day, and on our way back we passed this group of workers hand picking the vegetable crop (not sure what it was, so please don't ask :)). South Africa has as one of its nicknames "The rainbow nation", mainly because of all the different race groups that make up our fine country, but to me this was a scene that could have been made for that nickname. The folk that work in our fields, whether they be picking grapes, or vegetables, or fruits, always seem so colourful.

Anyway, I thought this was a nice peaceful image with which to end off the week. I thank all of you for your lovely comments yesterday, and wish you all the most wonderful of weekends. See you on Monday. Take care.

All comments, and especially constructive criticism is truly appreciated. Thank you for taking the time.
