Just waiting for the chance to begin

A macro of the stamens of the stargazer lily posted recently. This flower had just started to open and the stamens are all closed and tight, just waiting to open and stand proud. For me there's a real pent-up energy there - as if they just can't wait to show the world just how beautiful they will be.
Title from the lyrics to the beautiful and moving song "Here is your Paradise" by Chris de Burgh. It's one of my all-time favourites from this magnificent artist. Unfortunately my internet connection is playing up tonight and I am unable to give you a link to a video so that you can see and hear him sing the song, but there are links if you search for them - it's worth the effort, I promise!
