Riding into the sunset

Posted by dobbino (Cape Town, South Africa) on 3 July 2009 in People & Portrait.

Yet another sunset! But each one is different in its own way, and this is quite a nice one to finish the week off with.

This photo for me (admittedly after taking it!) has the feel of a quiet Friday evening looking forward to the same sort of laid-back weekend. Which was not the case when I took it! Jacqui saw the horses and riders on the beach and alerted me, and when I got to the balcony and saw them they were very close to riding into the area where the sun was setting. So I grabbed the camera, hurtled down to the beach (that's down two flights of stairs and about two hundred metres to the beach, BTW), and got there just in time to have the setting sun as a backdrop! Thank goodness for the image stabilizer on the lens - I was breathing so hard this would have come out in a blur if the IS wasn't there!

This was taken from virtually the same spot as yesterday's photo - but obviously with a different angle of view.

To all of you who left such lovely comments on yesterday's post - thank you very much indeed - I'm really pleased you enjoyed it. Have a superb weekend, and I will see you all next week. Take care.

All comments, and especially constructive criticism is truly appreciated. Thank you for taking the time.
