Goodbye to you, my trusted friend

Posted by dobbino (Cape Town, South Africa) on 17 June 2009 in People & Portrait.

This is the first time I am posting a photo on here that I didn't take myself.

It is a beautiful portrait of my very close and trusted friend, Theo, who left this world of ours late on Monday night, very suddenly, but thankfully very peacefully. My lovely wife, Jacqui, took the photo at a lunch we were enjoying recently with some mutual friends. The photo shows Theo in one of his thoughtful moods, taken outside, where he loved to spend his time.

I first met Theo over thirty years ago when I audited at Elizabeth Arden, and we worked together when I joined the company in 1984. I took over as General Manager when he retired in 1995, and Jacqui and I were very close friends with him and his wife, Diana, spending lots of good quality time together.

Theo was a man who really was larger than life, being well over six feet in height, and someone who lived his life to the full, enjoying all aspects of it.

Rest in peace, Friend - we will miss you, but we will never forget you.
