Hermanus break ii - Closed!

Posted by dobbino (Cape Town, South Africa) on 2 June 2009 in Business & Industry and Portfolio.

Couldn't resist this for the Silly Tuesday post (see Liner's blog) for the other submissions today. This shot was taken at about four o'clock on the day we arrived, during a walk around the town. Ok - write-up on the photo:

Closed??? Of course it’s bloody-well closed!!! This is a competitive, difficult, and cut-throat business, you know! Not many survive!

And an extract from the Ballad of Sweeney Todd:

Attend the tale of Sweeney Todd.
His skin was pale and his eye was odd.
He shaved the faces of gentlemen
Who never thereafter were heard of again.
He trod a path that few have trod
Did Sweeney Todd
The demon barber of Fleet Street.
He kept a shop in London town.
Of fancy clients and good renown
And what if none of their souls were saved
They went to their maker impeccably shaved.
By Sweeney,
By Sweeney Todd
The demon barber of Fleet Street.

BTW - the following lunchtime we went to a restaurant that served a variety of home-made pies. We both chose chicken.

Also - for those who might not know the story, there is a short summary here.

All comments, and especially constructive criticism is truly appreciated. Thank you for taking the time.
