On Thursday morning, 21 May 2009, Cape Town was treated to the most magnificent lighting storm. Unfortunately for me, I slept through most of it and just caught the tail end after 7:00am. I have since seen the most amazing photos of the storm (circulated via email), and while this particular shot is nothing compared to those, at least it's mine! Taken from our flat balcony.

I think you have a very nice shot. It is very simple and that is good. Nice use of rule of thirds, and that lightening bolt is simple but powerful. The texture in the middle third is also great.
