Durbanville Hills Selection - i

Posted by dobbino (Cape Town, South Africa) on 22 April 2009 in Art & Design and Portfolio.

Those of you who have visited our restaurant reviews will know that by far our favourite wine of choice is the Durbanville Hills Sauvignon Blanc.
Recently Jacqui and I were invited to a fabulous food and wine pairing evening, where Durbanville Hills supplied all the wines to complement the beautiful food prepared by the chefs at the The Blowfish restaurant. It really was an evening that will be remembered for a long, long time.
For me it also was a chance to again say hello to the Durbanville Hills Cellar Master, Martin Moore, someone who I had met before a long time ago. He very generously offered to let me have a walk around the winery and take photographs. So – over the next few days I will be sharing some of my favourite shots from this wonderful modern winery. I hope you enjoy them.
We start off with a photo of the Dylan Lewis sculpture of a leopard that graces their huge reception area. There is a brass plaque attached to the base on which the sculpture rests, which reads: “The leopard symbolises the forces of nature that shape the wines of Durbanville Hills. The soothing sea breezes and the fertile slopes and valleys of the Luipaerts Berghen, known today as the Tygerberg, create the unique Durbanville “terroir”.”
The winery also has its own website, and can be viewed at http://www.durbanvillehills.co.za.

All comments, and especially constructive criticism is truly appreciated. Thank you for taking the time.
