Honey bee

Posted by dobbino (Cape Town, South Africa) on 9 March 2009 in Animal & Insect.

I have a distinct lack of new photos to post, and must confess I never realised it would be so difficult to consistently post photos one is happy with! So this one is from way back when, even before I started shooting in RAW mode. Taken with my standard lens and then cropped severely, so it's not a true macro shot.
This little guy was having himself a feast on one of an abundance of flowers from the rock rose bush in our front garden. I know I am supposed to do something about all the background "noise", or negative space, but I quite like what it does for the photo and so have left it all in.

Title from the song by Tom Petty
