Discovery

This was a real find - as part of our trip on Monday we had to fill up and did so in a little coastal town called Betty's Bay. On our way home we came across a sign saying "Stony Point", and decided to see what was there. The road was very poorly signposted and just when we were about to turn around saw another sign and followed it. We eventually ended up at this most beautiful Nature Reserve for penguins. It used to be a whaling station and is now the reserve. For more detailed information, have a look at the official website. It was a superb discovery, as we have visited this area many times before without even knowing about this place. In the foreground you can see the penguins (I always thought they were more "black" than greyish), and around the old lookout point you can see the cormorants. It was a very dull and dingy sort of day, so the sea colours don't do the image as proud as they would have if if was bright and sunny.
Title from the song by Chris de Burgh
