What a difference a day makes

Normally our beach at Melkbos is quite clean and flat. We woke up one morning after some stormy weather and I could see that things were remarkably different from the day before. Walked down to the beach and found that thousands of empty mussel shells, black and white, had been washed up onto the shore. Here are some of them, with Table Mountain in the distance.

just a gorgeous shot Rob and simply marvelous in b/w!! beautifully done!! **on a side note -- who is jamie callum? he sings on an album of my new favorite singer / songwriter from Norway... and i think she is touring with him now as an opening act!! very keen to know! is he from South Africa? :D

I love the scattered shells along the beach, the way they have embedded themselves in the sand for the most part. Excellent shot and point of view!

That's a beautiful view. I love the cliffs.

Interesting. I saw a scene like this yesterday afternoon when I walked the beach and it was also cluttered with shells. At one point you had no choice but to walk on them there were too many to step around. We also had some big storms in the last few weeks.
