Bright and beautiful things

Posted by dobbino (Cape Town, South Africa) on 22 September 2008 in Plant & Nature and Portfolio.

I don't know what this flower is, but it comes back to grace our side garden once a year. It was planted by the landscaper who did our garden when we moved in fifteen years ago. It lives under our hibiscus, and is situated next to the jasmine, which is also flowering at the moment. The flower is really tiny, but also really beautiful. This obviously is a close up shot of the flower. My thanks to Jacqui, who held the now ever-present black sheet of paper steady behind the flowers while I took the photo in early morning sunlight.
Title inspired by the song from Ralph McTell, the man who gave us the wonderful "Streets of London"

All comments, and especially constructive criticism is truly appreciated. Thank you for taking the time.
