Today saw a bright Spring day with just a smattering of cloud, so the September day trip took place. We went up our west coast to the West Coast Nature Reserve (it's approximately 90 kilometers from Cape Town). It's flower season and we each had to pay the huge sum of R30 (about $8) to get into the park (for overseas visitors the price is double that - why, I don't know - we would happily have paid R60 each!). And I can tell you it was worth every cent - hopefully the photos over the next couple of days will confirm that.
This photo is taken from the road overlooking the Langebaan lagoon. The inviting boardwalk just makes one want to follow it down, and it takes one to the jetty where the boats take one to the houseboats. Bliss, or what?
