Lily, anyone?

Posted by dobbino (Cape Town, South Africa) on 27 August 2008 in Plant & Nature and Portfolio.

Wasn't sure whether to post this or not, but the Arum lily used to be South Africa's national flower. It was replaced by the King Protea, and I talked about that yesterday, so decided to add this to the knowledge base. We were visiting very good friends in a town called Darling, and came across this clump of arums growing wild. We have had magnificent rains during the winter, and this is one of the results of the rain. Our Spring flowers are also coming into bloom and hopefully I will be able to share some of these soon.

All comments, and especially constructive criticism is truly appreciated. Thank you for taking the time.
